  7. Please support the Owen J. Roberts High School safe and fun Post Prom Party by purchasing an online raffle ticket at this link https://rafflecreator.com/pages/1470/owen-j-roberts-wildcat-chances

    Dear Parents and Community Members:
Prom season is fast approaching. This year’s Junior/Senior prom is on Saturday, May 3rd, and our high school PTSA is working hard to ensure a memorable and safe post-prom experience for your sons, daughters, friends, and neighbors.
Please do your part by encouraging your child to attend OJR’s post-prom party and prevent attendance at a private party. The fact is, today's society allows easy access to alcohol and drugs, and peer pressure is extremely high on prom night, possibly leading to regretfully bad decisions. We at the PTSA are working hard to ensure a fun and fabulous evening for all our prom attendees!
We are asking that every family buy 5 tickets for themselves and try to encourage at least 5 people to visit the page and purchase tickets. Share the link with grandparents, friends, co-workers... Please understand that this is a major fundraiser for the Post Prom event, and if we are not able to sell enough tickets, this truly worthwhile activity might not continue at the level we wish to provide our children.
Many volunteers and a good deal of funding are needed to provide food, entertainment, activities, chaperones, music, and decorations that make this a fun and exciting event. We also ask that you consider participating even if your child is not attending this year so the event will be available in the future when your child is involved. To get involved, or for more information, contact Karen Shimer at karenshimer@comcast.net or Louise Capaldo at louise928@comcast.net.
This is a night of memories that will last a lifetime. Please help the PTSA to ensure these are great memories for all of our students.
Thank you for participating and be sure to share this link with your family, friends and co-workers! The students are guaranteed to win a fun night at the Post Prom Party and some lucky folks will be Wildcat Chance Winners too!

  19. BOYERTOWN AREA CHORAL ASSOCIATION TO PRESENT ANNUAL FREE SPRING CONCERT

The Boyertown Area Choral Association will conclude its 24th season with a FREE spring concert on Sunday, May 4th at The Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, located at 35 W. Philadelphia Avenue in Boyertown. The concert will be held at 3 p.m.

Directed by Boyertown alumni Donna M. House and Donna Jean Marshall, the community chorus will offer a pleasing mix of musical selections. Traditional favorites such as the timeless hymn “Then Sings My Soul (How Great Thou Art)” will be performed, as well as more contemporary numbers like “For Good,” the tender ballad from the hit Broadway musical Wicked. The uplifting text of “How Can I Keep from Singing” and the driving energy of “Put a Little Love in Your Heart (with Love Train)” are nicely balanced by the hauntingly inspirational “Pure Imagination” which was originally performed by Gene Wilder in the popular Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Of special significance to the choir is “The Majesty and Glory of Your Name,” a stirring piece that seamlessly flows from hushed tones to a bold and majestic sound.

The concert is free and open to the public. A cookie reception will follow the performance.

For more information please contact Donna House at bachoral@gmail.com.

How do we address the critical issues facing us today?

How can we best serve Christ in building His Kingdom?

"All reforms are fundamentally religious in nature, and therefore if American is to experience a Biblical reformation it must begin at the house of God...God's purpose for us is not abstract knowledge of all things but the knowledge of His revelations and for a specific purpose, that we may do all the words of this law."

  42. In late Spring 2013 a small group of cadets and parents met to explore the possibility of a trip to Ireland following a guest speaker who serves in the Royal Navy Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). From this meeting Operation Cloverfield was launched. Now in late 2014 the dream is inching toward reality. The cadets and adult chaperones are scheduled to leave on June 23, 2015 for a 2 week stay in the Dublin, Ireland area. The experiences planned are participation in July 4, celebration, honor and color guard duties as assigned by the military attaché, training opportunities with the RNLI, Irish Navy and Irish National Defense Corps. Obviously, Operation Cloverfield is a really big opportunity for the cadets. Fundraising efforts have been organized since Summer 2014. The cadets and their families have greeted customers at Giovanni’s Pizza, stuffed envelopes with solicitation letters to area veterans’ associations, sold Friends & Family Shopping passes at Boscov’s, cleaned hundreds of crates during a Cat Show, parked cars at Hay Creek festivals, manned arts and crafts tables for kids visiting Colonial Gardens, participated in a Christmas Bazaar, wrapped countless gifts at Boscov’s, and sold beautiful poinsettias for Christmas. More events are planned.
We understand that to raise the $100,000.00 we must spread our story. Recently another effort to raise awareness was launched. As you know, even a small donation can go a long way. Please check out Operation Cloverfield on our GoFundMe page: https://www.gofundme/OperationCloverfield. We are also on Facebook at operationcloverfieldOJR. If you cannot donate, helping us spread the word by sharing our Facebook page with friends, relatives, coworkers, and neighbors near and far is also a fantastic way to support Operation Cloverfield. With the support of the families of Operation Cloverfield, OJR NJROTC, the OJR community and the wider communities of the internet, we hope to make this dream a reality and a lifetime memory for the cadets. Thank you for taking the time to read about our campaign. We hope to get your support. Opportunities today create strong leaders of tomorrow.

  84. See where colonial career paths could take you at Pottsgrove Manor as we present our program, “Jack of All Trades,” on Saturday, July 22nd, 2017, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Do you have what it takes to be a “Jack of All Trades” at Pottsgrove Manor? There will be cooking in our reproduction 18th century kitchen where you can learn the skills needed to make a Georgian meal in a hearth fireplace. Weavers will be working on tape looms and turning wool into yarn and thread. Our mason, or brick/stone layer, will be illustrating the steps in stone carving by hand. Discover what a seamstress will be piecing together to create and hand-sew colonial garments. Explore what a book binder, colonial shoe maker, and broom maker are showcasing, teaching about their craft, and showing off their wares. Hands-on activities allow everyone to experience the noises, sights, and smells of the different 18th century careers and skills that crafted both everyday and luxury items. Colonial ironmaster John Potts’ 1752 manor house will be open for tours during the day. Visitors will also be able to shop at the manor’s museum shop for colonial games, books, and unique gifts. Trades were a necessary part of colonial life as friends and neighbors worked to sell and share their wares and services. Visit Pottsgrove Manor as we invite you to come see what’s being made!

This program welcomes all ages; suggested donation $2 per person for the event. The event will be held rain or shine!

Pottsgrove Manor is located at 100 West King Street near the intersection of King Street and Route 100, just off Route 422 near the Carousel at Pottsgrove and Manatawny Green Miniature Golf Course, in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. 110. Pottsgrove Manor hosts the 1st and 3rd Battalion of the Pennsylvania Regiment on Saturday, July 21st, from 11:00am to 3:00pm to teach all ages about life during the French and Indian War.

The French and Indian War, also known as the Seven Years War, battled for the control of resources in the British Colonies and French Canada from 1754 to 1763. The war changed the economic, political, and social aspects of life in Colonial America, yet the war is often overlooked today. Ironmaster John Potts’ involvement in the war is unclear but his role as a Judge meant he kept an eye towards community safety. Build your knowledge about this critical era at Pottsgrove Manor, and join the living history interpreters portraying a Pennsylvania Provincial unit to learn about this period. Talk with soldiers about the challenges of army life and the battles during the war. Discover more about their unique uniform and their daily routine during camp life. Drill and train with the best in Pennsylvania and see if you have what it takes to muster through a day in the 18th century army.
